ATELIERS PUZZLE is based in Nantes, a city energized by decades of culture and contemporary art. From this changing territory, we apply our experience for projects of various scales, technical levels and contexts.
The wide range of our productions allows us to carry out precise technical studies on any type of work, whether it is integrated into exhibition spaces, unconventional sites or urban and outdoor public spaces.
With backgrounds in industrial and structural engineering, architecture and scenography, our multidisciplinary team ensures the feasibility and technical production management of each project by combining technical precision with sensitivity to artistic matters. We operate in various territories in France and abroad and take care to explore, for each territory we work in, its own skills and know-how.
Each project is thus supported by a tailor-made team, capable of providing the right solutions to each challenge of manufacturing, implementation, and durability for the most demanding creations.
After gaining five years of professional experience in Marseille and then on Lille 2004, the European Capital of Culture, Grégoire Cartillier worked in Nantes for ten years as technical manager of the “Estuaire” contemporary art biennale and then for “A Journey to Nantes”.
As a registered architect (DPLG), he has in-depth knowledge of urban planning issues and helps many artists set up installations with complex anchoring points. Between 2014 and 2016 he participated as an advisor to the national mission for art and culture in the public space and regularly intervenes as an expert on the issues of sustainability of works of art in the public space.
In 2016 Grégoire Cartillier created the design office Ateliers Puzzle, specialized in the study and technical production of artistic projects.
